    The Trilene® Knot

The Trilene knot is a strong, reliable connection that resists slippage and premature failures. This knot can be used in joining line to swivels, snaps, hooks and artificial lures. The knot's unique double wrap design and ease of tying consistently yields a strong, dependable connection.

    1. Run end of line through eye of hook or lure and double back through the eye a second time.
    2. Loop around standing part of line 5 or 6 times. Thread tag end back between the eye and the coil as shown.
    3. Wet line and tighten knot with a steady, even motion without hesitation. Trim tag end leaving about 1/4".

    The Uni to Uni Knot

    1. Loop tag end of the shock leader back to the left and make 5-6 wraps round both lines.
    2. Wet lines, then pull slowly on the tag end until the loop disappears.
    3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with other tag end. Tighten both knots.
    4. Wet lines, then pull on standing part of both lines to draw the knots together.
    5. On final knot, trim tag ends leaving about 1/4".

    Palomar Knot

Berkley Pro Staff recommends a Palomar knot to connect terminal tackle and lures to FireLine. To keep your line from slipping around the spool arbor, tie a length of monofilament backing to the arbor and then tie FireLine to the backing with a UNI to UNI knot.

For best results, be sure to wind line tightly on the reel.
    1. Double the line and form a loop three to four inches long. Pass the end of the loop through the hook's eye.
    2. Holding the standing line between thumb and finger, grasp loop with free hand and form a simple overhand knot.
    3. Pass hook through loop and draw line while guiding line over top of eyelet.
    4. Pull tag end of line to tighten knot snugly and trim tag end to about 1/4."
