Historic Duo Celebrate First Win Since 2009 on Renegade Bass Tour

OTTAWA, CANADA – July 4th, 2014 – Renegade Bass, the leader in live release bass tournament fishing in Canada, is pleased to announce the results of the first qualifier event of the 2014 tournament season presented by Evinrude BRP Motors , Ranger Boats and Orleans Boat World & Sports.

The town of Newboro, Ontario welcomed 55 of Canada’s Elite Bass Angling Teams on June 28th, 2014. Teams were competing for over $13,700 in cash and prizes on a series of lakes on the historic Rideau Canal waterway which included Newboro Lake, Clear Lake, Mosquito Lake, Indian Lake, Benson Lake and Loon Lake. Facing challenging post-spawn conditions, Renegade teams fought hard and this group of elite anglers didn’t disappoint with 6 teams coming to the scales with bags over 16lbs with local favourites and Toronto veteran anglers Dave Chong and Doug Brownridge taking home the win – their first since 2009.

The Renegade Bass Series will now move to Mississippi Lake on July 12, 2014 to compete for a top 40 final position which will qualify teams to fish for an Evinrude-powered Ranger Bass Boat from Orleans Boat World and Sports.
