As you all know there was a late entry fee of $100.00 added to the $550.00 entry fee. In a show of commitment to this tournament and anglers they have decided to do away with the late fee up to and including next weekend at the TBBA event on Lake St.Clair @ Marine Park August 10, 2014. Entry forms can be printed out and mailed in, or you can get them and pay at the Marine Park Office, or you can register at the TBBA weigh-in on the 10th Mitchell's Bay Open staff will be there.
$1000.00 Big Fish Of The Tournament prize has been donated by Marine Park Marina.
Anyone who wants to can throw in for an anger big fish as well, there will be a table for it at the registration meeting.
All anglers are invited to the Pig Roast just before the registration meeting on Thursday night, no cost to registered anglers! BTW, Everyone received an emai or snail mail with details, remember the meeting is mandatory!
Registered anglers can pick up and use their special Marine Park Launch Pass on the Tuesday before the tournament, they might be ready before that I will check. The pass covers your launch fees for the week (from Tuesday) and through the tournament, even if they have to use the Sunady as a catch up due to weather.
The tournament will launch from the bay, just outside of the Marine Park channel. Check in at the end of the day will also be in the bay, this is a move to keep fish in cooler water and not heated up in the harbour. Ice will be available in the mornings and on the check in boat if required. Boats will be called into the weigh-in 5 at a time.
The lake is in great shape, between storms this week I have been able to get out and fish. Aside from the way higher water levels the temps are much lower than you'd expect for this time of year! I had around 66 degrees on Tuesday close to the sandbars, I didn't get out into the middle, didn't have to, the fish were on fire.......
July 10, 2014: After 2 days of heavy duty number crunching the MBAA has sent a new Prize Board and Payout Structure for the Mitchell’s Bay Open Bass Tournament. I must say I am very impressed!!
They not only have done as asked and sent the payout breakdown but they did something MORE that was totally unexpected.
The Payout for this tournament has been substantially increased from a $50,000.00 tournament to a $60,000.00 tournament, first place in a full field went from $18,000.00 to $21,600.00. Of course this is based on a full field of 120 teams. And there still is a $5000.00 guarantee for first place regardless of how many teams enter!!
As you will see in the chart below Payouts will be from first to tenth place for 30 or more teams entered, they will pay down to 5th place for less than 30 entered teams.
And Payouts will be in CASH!! Securely held in a guarded safe at a secret location until payout time.
Not to mention the $1000.00 Big Fish of the Tournament Prize that has been donated by Marine Park Marina.
If you have been sitting on the fence, this is the time to get into this tournament. A $100.00 late fee will come into effect on the 16th of July. (Late fee has been cancelled)
