CANADIAN ALLSTAR INVITATIONAL
September 28, 29, 30 & October 1, 2006

CSFL announced today a ranking system for Competitive Bass Anglers.

Toronto, Ontario – March 13, 2006 – The Competitive Sport Fishing League announced today that they will be hosting a four day event on a lake yet to be announced which will rank competitive anglers based on their performance.

The top ten teams/positions from each recognized tour will be invited to compete for his or her national ranking to determine their position amongst the top finishing anglers in this Province.

All anglers will compete as individuals and through a process of elimination; this event will rank the top tournament anglers of the year.  For the inaugural year of this event, past Classic Champions, Teams/Anglers of the Year and All Canadian Champions from all recognized tours together with television celebrities will be granted an automatic Invitation.   The top ten teams or positions from each recognized tour as of midnight August 31st, 2006, based on the CSFL point system, will qualify for the First Annual CANADIAN ALLSTAR INVITATIONAL.

All eligible anglers will be given an opportunity to compete for four days.   At the end of Day 2 only half the field will advance to Day 3.   At the end of Day 3 only the top 20 anglers will advance to Day 4 where they will compete on a different body of water to determine the final overall ranking for the 2006 season.

These top 20 anglers will advance to the 2007 PRO ANGLER TOUR as individuals, where they will continue to compete as Canada ’s top anglers for a $10,000.00 purse at each event.

2007 will mark the evolution and the turning point for competitive sport fishing as we know it.   Canadian anglers for the first time in history will have an opportunity to compete and be recognized on their performance, creating a true professional league without any reasonable doubt.

With the Canadian Allstar ranking system in place, the top 20 anglers from the 2006 CANADIAN ALLSTAR INVITATIONAL will create a plateau which will showcase their skills throughout the Province.   The CSFL will provide these anglers an opportunity to win up to $10,000.00 in cash at each event and capture the Canadian Bronze Back Cup title.   The Pro Angler Tour will offer three newly formatted events at no additional cost to these anglers creating the ultimate level of competitive sport fishing in Canada .

At the completion of the 2007 season of the Pro Angler Tour, the top 10 anglers will continue in the Pro Angler Tour for 2008.   The remaining 10 anglers will be granted an automatic invitation to participate in the 2007 CANADIAN ALLSTAR INVITATIONAL and must re-qualify in one of the top 10 eligible positions for the 2008 Pro Angler Tour.

CSFL President, Andrew Pallotta, stated “it has always been our goal from the beginning to create a league which would recognize the performance of anglers and award them accordingly.    The CSFL invites anglers from all series to compete amongst each other to determine the best of the best.   This measuring tool will benefit both anglers and manufacturers”.   Vita Pallotta of the CSFL goes on to say “we have finally put together a venue which allows anglers from across the Province to come together in order to determine the top ranking tournament anglers.   I am especially excited about the Canadian Bronze Back Cup.   The CSFL has commissioned a Canadian artist to design a trophy depicting a combination of our sport and this country to be displayed with the CSFL Seminar Tank at trade shows across Canada .”
