Lund Boats supports the Kingston Canadian Open of Fishing

CSFL announced today Lund Boats extends their support for the Kingston Canadian Open.

Toronto, Ontario – July 14, 2011 – The Lund Boat Company announced today they will award an additional $2,500 to the winner of the Kingston Canadian Open providing the professional angler is participating out of a Lund Boat. More reason to compete in a Lund Boat!

The Canadian Open of Fishing is a three-day event out of Kingston, Ontario. A Canadian formatted Pro-Am, whereby professional anglers will participate with different Co-anglers each day combining their weights. The three day accumulation of weights wins the Pro up to $50,000 and the winning Co-Angler will be awarded a $20,000 Lund/Mercury Boat Motor package.

Andrew Pallotta, President of CSFL, expresses, “Lund Boats and Mercury Marine have been the back-bone of our organization as well as industry leaders and have entrusted in us throughout the years with endless ongoing support. In last year’s inaugural event we witnessed Lund boat owners representing over 30% of the field. Vita Pallotta of the CSFL also mentions, “Lund Boats and Mercury Marine were one of the first sponsors of last year’s event and did not hesitate to support such a worthy cause and allow us to do what we love to do.”

The inaugural event raised well over $22,000 for the Soldier On Foundation in 2010. Vita Pallotta adds, “The majority of the funds raised came from the event sponsors and without the sponsors’ generous support this would just be another event.” The Soldier On program is a way the Lund Boat Company can create awareness and give back to a worthy cause.

Dirk Hyde, President of the Lund Boat Company, says, “Our heritage is fishing, we build boats designed by fishermen for fishermen, with input from both customers and our pro staff.” Hyde’s philosophy affirms anglers help to change, change is important to all companies and change allows companies to do better.
