The Simcoe Showdown Registration Opens Today!

Registration for the Simcoe Showdown Pro Am officially opens today at 9:00 am!

The draw for positions will take place at 12:00 midnight.

Please note: The Simcoe Showdown field size will not exceed the Kingston Canadian Open of Fishing field size. Pro positions can only be guaranteed providing there is a balance in co-anglers as co-anglers positions can only be guaranteed providing there is a balance in pro positions.

Can't wait for both the Kingston Canadian Open and now the Simcoe Showdown.

I can't believe there are still pro spots available for this one. Pretty easy bite still in August. Two day event!

John I think the showdown is the same weekend as the OBF out of Rideau ...guys might still be deciding ;)

The Simcoe Showdown is on Aug. 22 and 23. Isn't the OBF the next week?

That's too bad. I'm committed to the Simcoe Showdown. Would have liked to fish both.

This is going to be an interesting tournament. The smallmouth bite on Simcoe last year was good until about the 3rd week in Aug. but by the last week the fish disappeared. Could this become a largemouth win? The green ones were strong through Sept.

Do you have to fish the Canadian Open to be able to fish the Simcoe Showdown?

I do not see anything in the form that says you must fish both Caleb.

Just found out if you don't fish the Canadian Open as a pro you can't fish the Simcoe Showdown.

Did Andy tell you that? I know two pros that are not fishing the Kingston Canadian Open but are fishing the Showdown

I believe those that fish Kingston have first right of entry. After a certain date which has passed it opens up on a first come first serve basis.

Not that it matters, but I would think that Simcoe is not a lot less forgiving than Ontario lol. Just saying :P lol

There is almost no conditions that I can't go out on Simcoe but Lake O gets really big when it blows. If you get a 20 knot wind on Ontario there's no boat big enough.

I know, but they are both considered big water, and either lake has the potential of blowing an 18' boat off the lake with the right wind. I've heard my share of horror stories about guys in 16-18's that got stuck in 8-10 footers on Simcoe and that's plenty big imo! Doable, but still big lol

I think when someone says 8 to 10 footers on Simcoe that might be about a 3 ft embellishment. The roughest I've ever seen is about 6 to 7 and I lost a boat in it tied up to my dock. When someone say 8 to 10 on Ontario they mean constant very big waves. I don't think I would be out on either in an 18 ft boat.
