G-Loomis adds support to the Bass Pro Shops Lake Simcoe Open
The Aurora Bassmasters are pleased to announce that G-Loomis has agreed to support it’s exciting new partnership between their club and Bass Pro Shops Canada, Inc. Slated for Saturday, October 25th, 2008, the Bass Pro Shops Lake Simcoe Open presented by Jack Link’s Beef Jerky has fast become the premier one-day, team-format bass tournament in the country.
“On behalf of G-Loomis, we are extremely proud to lend our support to the Bass Pro Shops Lake Simcoe Open.” said Bob Mahoney, from G-Loomis. “The unique nature of this tournament and its steady growth year-after-year bodes well for its future, the industry and tournament fishing alike.”

80 Team field has been fully subscribed; waiting list now in effect!
In order to maintain the highest level of communication between tournament organizers and anglers prior to the event itself, we are asking all applicants to include their email addresses on the Application Form so that all notices and event-related messaging can be relayed directly to all interested parties. All accepted applicants have already been contacted via email; with a full 80 Team field, a waiting list is now in effect. Those on the waiting list will not be contacted until such a time that a Team position may become vacant.
As new information is made available, it will be posted on the Aurora Bassmasters site at www.aurorabass.com. Application Forms and a complete listing of General Rules, Regulations & Liability will be made available online through the Aurora Bassmasters and the Official Site of the Bass Pro Shops Lake Simcoe Open – www.simcoeopen.com (in development). About The BPS Open:
This tournament is recognized for continually setting and then breaking its own Canadian all time record for the five heaviest bass ever weighed in during a one day event. It currently stands at 29.90 lbs for five massive smallmouth that were weighed in during the 2006 tournament. This competition highlights the tremendous bass fishery of one of the finest trophy lakes in North America. At only an hour north of Toronto, Lake Simcoe is easily accessible to thousands of bass anglers.
Lionshead Lakefront Resort, the host hotel will provide competing anglers with their Bass Pro Shops Lake Simcoe Open Group Rate for Friday and Saturday night from $99.00 for a standard room; limited rooms are available at this rate. With the two night booking, anglers can add the Thursday or Sunday night room for only $79.00.
