The best launch is Portsmouth harbor then boat to confederation park.
Can't wait! It's extremely exciting to finally have another event of this calibre up here in Canada. Unfortunate about the B.A.S.S. Northern Open but again with our short summers up here...
Cheers,
Dave
This looks like an awesome event. The paybacks are stellar. I look forward to more info on this tourney. It should sell out very quickly. Great cause and fantastic support from Shimano and the CSFL.:clap
I have to agree with Dave on this one.
It looks like it is not only going to be a great event, but a very well structured one as well!
The location is perfect for an event of this size, the date is good (some conflicts are un-avoidable) and the pay-out ratio and structure is as good as or better than I have seen on either side of the border in a long time!
Well done to those involved!
Jay.
Payouts look good. What is the support for the soldiers?
Proceeds from the tournament go to The Soldier On charity.
The primary objectives of Soldier On are as follows:
• To provide the resources and opportunities for ill and injured military personnel to fully and actively participate in physical fitness, health promotion and sport activities;
• To create awareness of Soldier On among ill and injured military personnel, other CF personnel, the general public and corporations;
• To investigate, foster and enhance partnerships with allied nations and national disability organizations offering relevant programs and services;
• To provide referrals for ill and injured military personnel and their families on relevant physical fitness, health promotion and sport activities conducive to optimizing functional independence.

Thanks Bob...thats sounds like a worthy cause. So if there is a full field, what kind of amount will be forwarded to the charity?
After speaking with Andy and Vita here are a few answers to the dozens of questions there recieving........
- The event will be restricted to 80 boaters and 80 non boaters.
- There will be two heats of 40 boats per day. Boater's start positions will
be based on your 50% deposit . If you wish to retain a position /
number you may do so with a 50 % deposit and a post dated cheque for
the remaining balance payable May 1, 2010.
- Payment can be made by cash, cheque, VISA or MasterCard. If anglers wish to reserve a
position, a VISA or MasterCard can be used followed up with a cheque
within 1 week of confirmation. Full payment is required by anglers
registering after May 1, 2010.
- At the end of each day, boater entries will be drawn for start positions until the field is full.
not sure if this is a given or asked already...will a passport be needed and what are the rules for non-boater?
edited: I've reviewed the rules...not much for AM but still doesn't state anything about this specific tourney and passports. If I'm not mistaken, it was either strongly suggested or mandatory for the Big Jim tourney in Kingston.
Cheers,
Paul
Just finalizing the "rules" for non-boaters now. They will be posted soon.
Thanks Tom...I'm interested in an AM spot and want to get in so I don't loose out.
I'm looking forward to this being in my home town. ?LOL
Cheers,
Paul
In answer to your question Sean, each partner to this event is required to make a contribution to the Soldier On program as a component of their commitment to the event. The more partners the greater the contribution. This way the entry fees and prize structure is separate from the charitable contributions made by the partners.
Andy and Vita are doing their very best to put on a quality event. Without their experience and passion this would never happen. There is a reason why the CSFL grows every year. The City has been fantastic, and so have the folks at CFB Kingston and at Soldier On. I can hardly wait for July. You can bet I'll be there!
I can't speak for the tournament officials as to whether or not it is in the rules but normally a passport is required only if you land at a U.S. port.It might not be a bad idea though in case of an emergency.Quote:
