On/off may seem trivial but think of backs & once you select which of the 6 loops (4 shad 2 shiner) you want to run you can simply use the foot switch to on/off. Gives the angler more options than...
DIY install no problem although I would suggest buying the extra 6' power cord if you want to have more options when mounting. There is also a foot switch available that I wouldn't mind getting....
