QUINTE FISHING SERIES
10th ANNIVERSARY SEASON IN 2006
After nine great seasons, the Quinte Fishing Series looks to 2006 and its 10th anniversary year with much excitement and anticipation. “The Series has come a long way from its humble beginnings in 1997and has enjoyed a wonderful past two or three years” stated Tournament Director, Pete Thompson. “Entries continue to climb each year as does the prize money available to our anglers and the Series has plans to make the 2006 season even better!”
After three months of discussions, the Series is pleased to announce a new partnership in 2006 with “The House Team” of Mortgage Intelligence Belleville.
Representative Peter House explained, “we have followed the Series for a number of years and have seen it continue to grow and with the Series celebrating it’s 10th anniversary year in 2006, we decided that this would be a great time to support this tournament circuit and offer, we think, a great prize for it’s anglers”.
Anglers who fish the five bass tournaments in 2006 will receive one ballot for every five (5) lbs. of weight they weigh in at each tournament and these ballots will be entered into a draw we are calling, Win a Trip! The winning team drawn will receive a team prize valued at $4,000.00 consisting of two gift certificates valued at $2,000.00 each (no cash value) to put towards the trip of their choice!! For teams that fish the final tournament of the year, the Quinte Classic and have fished the five (5) previous Q.F.S. tournaments, they will receive double the ballots towards this fabulous draw. Ballots for the year will be awarded in this way: 0 - 4.99 lbs. - 0 ballots, 5.00 - 9.99 lbs. - 1 ballots, 10.00 - 14.99 lbs. - 2 ballots, 15 - 19.99 lbs. - 3 ballots, etc. “This draw will be the feature prize along with our “Team of the Year” award at the Classic on September 24th and will be a great way to end what should be an amazing year, Thompson explained. “We are indeed grateful and pleased to add Mortgage Intelligence Belleville to our list of valued sponsors and wish all our anglers the best of luck with this special draw and great fishing in the upcoming season”.
The Series will continue with a number of awards and prizes in 2006 as well as adding a number of new prizes to help celebrate this 10th anniversary season. As an added bonus for the Quinte Fishing Series “Angler/Team of the Year” winners, they will receive compliments of Canadian Tire, Belleville, $500.00 in Canadian Tire money to go along with their prize package of a 15' Princecraft Yukon boat, 15 H.P. Mercury outboard and trailer. The Runner Up for “Angler/Team of the Year”, will receive as before, FREE entries for the 2007 tournament season. New for 2006, the third (3rd) placed team in the “Angler/Team of the Year” race will also receive $500.00 in Canadian Tire money compliments of the Series. We thank Dennis McCullough, owner of the Belleville store for his sponsorship and assistance with these added prizes. The 115 H.P. and Under division will also be rewarded in 2006 as the team with the lowest aggregate total for the season will receive an additional $500.00 in cash compliments of the Quinte Fishing Series.
The Series is also pleased to announce that the 115 H.P. and Under Award will continue in 2006 with long time sponsor, Belleville Sport and Lawn, taking over sole sponsorship for this part of the Series. This will allow the Series to continue to award the top placed team in each tournament using an engine that is 115 H.P. or less and will be now known as the Belleville Sport and Lawn 115 H. P. And Under Award.
The “Big Fish” sponsor will now have Bass Magnet Lures as its major sponsor in 2006 and winners, on top of the big fish pool money, will receive $150.00 of quality plastic baits per tournament. Our thanks to Mike and Mary Nabulsi of Bass Magnet Lures for stepping up and taking this on in 2006.
“Sponsors play an important role within the Series and we have been blessed with tremendous support from our sponsors, many who have been with us from day one” added Thompson. “ We are grateful for their continued support and we are very pleased to welcome seven (7) new sponsors to the Series.” Joining us in 2006 are: Mortgage Intelligence Belleville, Anderson Equipment Sales - Wallbridge/Loyalist Rd., Belleville, Peter Smith Chevrolet Cadillac Ltd - Hwy. 62N, Belleville, Quinte Alternator and Starter - Parks Dr., Belleville, Thunder Cycle and Sport - Picton, Bowen’s Petroleum Products - Napanee and Skevy’s Outdoor Specialties - Dundas St., Belleville.
