The CSFL and its sponsors are working together to secure the future of tournament fishing in this province. In doing so, the CSFL has taken the initiative to make changes to its schedule to meet the industry expectations. The CSFL will be merging the Phenix Open with the Simcoe Wildcard. The Phenix Wildcard will be taking place on Sunday June 25, 2006, with a $300 entry fee which will maintain the traditional Phenix payouts. CSFL anglers will continue to use this event as a Wildcard towards any one of the Bassmania Tournament Trail Divisions. The Phenix Wildcard will payout 80% the day of the event with no holdback for the Bassmania Classic. Anglers already signed up for the Phenix will be blasted off in conjunction with the Wildcard field. All new anglers signing up for the Phenix Wildcard event will be on a first come/first serve basis. The CSFL has scheduled a third Wildcard event on Quinte on July 9 to off set the Phenix Wildcard full event payout in order to maintain the Classic payout. There have been no changes to the Bassmania Eastern Division however the changes to the Bassmania Western Division are as follows: Sparrow will take place on July 29, Muskoka on July 30, Six Mile Lake on August 19 and Gloucester Pool on August 20. The Bassmania eX Tour will continue with its Sunday venues consisting of Rice Lake, Balsam Lake, Lake Muskoka and Gloucester Pool. No changes have been made to the Bassmania Classic X.

With respect to the BM100's, Cameron and Scugog will remain the same, with Sparrow on July 15, Dalrymple on July 16 and Seymour on Civic Holiday Monday August 7. The BM100 Invitational will be on September 30 on Stoney Lake.

The CSFL has made some positive changes to The Pro Bass Tour. The Quinte event will continue to take place on July 7/8; however the Rice Lake XBC on August 5/6 will now become the second event for the Pro Bass Tour. The XBC will maintain its 100% payback structure together with the manufacturers incentive program. The Muskoka event remains the same on August 26/27 however the Pro Bass Tour Invitational on Simcoe has been moved up to the 9th and 10th of September. With overwhelming numbers supporting the XBC, the CSFL believes this will make a great impact on the Pro Bass Tour. The Pro Bass Tour Team of the Year is based on best 3 out of 4 Pro Bass Tour Events which includes the XBC and the Pro Bass Tour Invitational.

No other changes have been made to the schedule.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the CSFL directly or visit them at the Spring Fishing Show - Lund Seminar Stage - Hall 4.
