    2006 Orillia Fall Challenge

On Saturday September 16 and Sunday September 17, the Fall Challenge takes place on Couch only out of Centennial Park in Orillia. This year's event marks its 29th anniversary! We would like to encourage as many anglers to come out and support this annual fundraiser for the Orillia Fish & Game Conservation Club.

Blast off is 7:00 am with weigh in at 3:00 pm for both days. On site registration will take place.

This year's Children's Fishing Derby hosted by The Orillia Fish & Game Conservation Club is sponsored by the Toronto Sportsmen Show and will take place on Saturday September 16 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Registration for the event will take place at 9:00 am at the Town Docks by the Pier. All participating children will be served lunch with the awards presentation immediately following. Hope to see you there!

    Regards,
    The CSFL

I spoke to Vita last Friday and she has around 30 teams listed so far. She said most teams that fished last years event left a deposit and with it being Couch only this year Andy's hoping more club teams will show up.

Should be a fun event as always and the fall fishing on Couch is always great.

    Take care,
    Craig

    Brian,

I was out yesterday messing around.
I don't believe it's reverse order on day 2, but I could be wrong.

    Just verified with Andy gents.......

Blast off on Day 2 is in the order of Day 1 standings. If your leading after Day 1, then you blast off #1, if your last after day 1, then you blast off last. He does this in the Classics and also in this years XBC event.

    Hope this clears things up.

    Take care,
    Craig

This isn't the Classic and not an XBC, why the change?:?

    From Andy regarding my question.

Over the years organizers including ourselves have used affixed team numbers and the only option in the past was either to maintain the start positions for both days or reverse on day 2. Because of our flag system, which allows us to identify tournament anglers and acknowledge their return at the end of the day, we have the option to have the teams start the next day based on their performance from Day 1.

Hopefully this clarifies this. Anyone needing further clarification can call me on my cell 416-802-2277.

    Thanks, Andy

I liked the second day format using the first day's finish as your start position that Andy used at the Classic. We were team 56 on Friday, and were 15 on Saturday. Unfortunately that was the highlight of our Classic. Work hard for your fish, why not get a small reward like a better start?

The fall challenge was a good event this year. Fishing was tough, but we managed just under 28 pounds for 8th place. Congrats to Dallas Charters for the 34 pounds, good weight man!
