Press Release

For Immediate Release: July 4, 2008

The Aurora Bassmasters are excited to announce that the Tundra Challenge will once again return as an integral promotional component to the Bass Pro Shops Lake Simcoe Open and the Lake Simcoe fishery as a whole. Maple Toyota and Tracker Boats (Bass Pro Shops) are again the proponents behind the record breaking promotion; the value of which surpasses $100,000!

“The Tundra Challenge presents yet another unparalleled opportunity to build upon the success of the all-new Toyota Tundra - the biggest, toughest, most versatile Full Size pickup ever built. Our participation in the BPS Simcoe Open is a natural extension of Toyota’s partnership with Bass Pro Shops; and, on behalf of MAPLE TOYOTA, we’re certainly proud to become part of your tournament season here in Ontario. The 2008 Toyota Tundra; with over 10,000lb towing capacity, it has the power to get the job done; there’s no better way and no better ride for you and your boat!” said Corrado Longhin, GM – Maple Toyota.
“We’re excited at the promise that this tournament holds for Tracker Boats; and, are thrilled to be a partner in this endeavour. The Tundra Challenge presents a tremendous opportunity for all involved; it’s a great way for us (Tracker Boats) to build our brand in the marketplace. In the past, this tournament has set benchmarks for giant smallies and monster winning weights; that being said, records are made to be broken!” said Tom Fulton, GM – Tracker Marine Boat Centre (Bass Pro Shops).

Herb Quan, President of the Aurora Bassmasters added that, “On behalf of the Aurora Bassmasters, I’d like to extend our sincere thanks to both Maple Toyota and Tracker Marine Boat Centre for their respective commitment. This alone has a $101,000 value attached to it; this will surely lend to the success of the Bass Pro Shops Lake Simcoe Open and the Tundra Challenge will most certainly become an integral component in growing this event into the future.”
