Congrats to DAVE KENNEDY and WAYNE MISSELBROOK for getting to the big ones.

What an incredible fishery! It seems the problem most anglers had was to get through the 3 pounders to get to the 4's and 5's. I can't think of another fishery that you can catch 50 quality fish on a day in July. I can't imagine what this fishery will be like in 5 years when the 2's and 3's grow into 4's and 5's.

Great Job Andy and Vita and the CSFL crew.

    Well said John!

My hands are sore this morning from setting hook, weighing and culling...what a day! Normally that kind of bite doesn't pick up until later in the summer. Especially surprising after the previous week had been tougher and Gloucester didn't seem to be an easy bite for most.

A definite congrats to Dave and Wayne for getting those big fish to bite. That's impressive weight for early July. Those Muskoka boys stuck it out together and things paid off.

Wrong way to end a good day for us! Special thanks for Mike and Ron Lenz for helping us out at the end of the day. Also to Brian Rever who bailed us out with a tow....Just more examples of so many great guys that fish the circuit.

Hopefully people will see these 3 fish weights again this year and get up to Georgian Bay next year....under 50 boats just isn't right for the chance at that kind of day.

    Hey Jeff
I think we should skip dink Pool, I mean GPool next year and fish GBay twice and have the best weight over two days. The only way I can find big fish on GPool is if they drain it and let me pick the ones I want LOL.

    I hear you John.

On Saturday afternoon, Jim said - boy it will be nice to get back to some "man fish" on Georgian bay! This was after Simcoe (which he doesn't really care for) and the tough bite on Gloucester.

Jim and I call Georgian Bay "Man Fish" because they just seem to stomp over and bite like on no other lake. Even when they're close to the boat in shallow water, they'll generally just head over and EAT the bait where on other lakes they'll just mouth it, or ignore it completely.

All this plus the fact that fluorocarbon spinning rod line can come off because they don't care that the tubes or senkos are on braided line.

    awesome day

Sounds like anglers were just ripping it up on the bay on Sunday lots of reports of 50 fish days again fishing through the 3lb fish to get to the big fish wind didn't play a factor the last 2 years which is great.
Awesome fishery need to have a few more tournaments on the bay.
Dave and Wayne are sure dialed in here congrads on another great finish on the bay.

    What an amazing fishery.

It was my first time back since I fished a GM pro bass event in 2000. The fish are bigger and there are more of them.

Garrett and I were shocked that we finished fourth. Garrett fished in a cast all day and after being only the 8th boat to weigh-in and we were in third place we figured that we would end up out of the top ten so we headed home. He also needed a few pain killers.

Congrats to Dave and Wayne. You bleeps.

    Thanks for the congrats everyone.

As all the local people from the Midland, Penetang and surrounding areas already know, this fishery is simply incredible!!!!!!!

These fish are also incredibly strong. Three to four pounders just don't know when to call it quits....jumping out of the water, swimming to the back of the boat, then the front of the boat, then under the boat, then......well....wherever they want to go!!

When Wayne first hooked the five and a half pounder, he quietly asked me to lift the trolling motor(well maybe it wasn't quietly!) because the fish headed under the boat and decided to surface on the other side. Then he told me to put the trolling motor down and chase the fish because it decided to head for Parry Sound. Then, tolling motor up, then.....well.... you get the picture. In the end, we just lifted the motor and let the fish drag us around until it finally got tired.

It is not very often when you have a tournament in the middle of July that it takes a three pound average to make the top thirty teams, and these teams are doing it with both Largemouth and smallmouth.

It certainly would be cool to see what weights would be like if ministry regulations allowed a five fish limit.
If you doubt what the anglers say about the sheer numbers and average size of the fish on this body of water, all I can say is...... just go out and try it!!!!

Thanks to Andy and Vita for putting on a tournament here. I for one would probably not have fished on Georgian Bay if it wasn't for them.

Now I can't wait to get back!!!

Congrats to Wayne and Dave on the win!!!!!!!
Nice weigh. 5 1/2lb smallmouth, I bet there was some high 5's in the boat after the livewell lid was closed!!

Thanks everyone, Dave and I appreciate your support.

As Dave and others have mentioned, Georgian Bay smallmouth are "CRAZY". Once hooked, they're in the air, under the boat, around the motor and anywhere else they want to be until they're in the net. When you locate fish, I guarantee your "lipping" thumb will be raw by the end of the day. These fish are "MEAN" and they have "TEETH" !!!!!

Days like this are why we "ALL" fish tournaments. Tournaments you will always remember and can't wait to fish again.

Thanks again Dave for another great day on the water. You are one of the true "PROFESSIONALS" in this sport.

Thank-you Vita and Andy for taking us to this amazing fishery. As Dave mentioned, you introduced us to Georgian Bay!!!!!

In closing, some would say Georgian Bay is too far away. Here's something to think about ....... why have we bought these boats with big price tags, if fish like this aren't worth the drive ??? Spend the extra few bucks, you'll be glad you did !!!!!

    Thanks again, Wayne

I like the 3 fish limit.. balances the field. maybe they should look into introducing that on other tournament waters. some lakes, trilakes, for instances get way 2 many tournaments every year. all ready been 3 with csfl runnin 2 more this weekend. look at the years gone by and the fishing results.. I am jealous of all those who did fish GBAY this past weekend, sounds like an amazing fishery.
