Many thanks for the post Joe. Here's a key reason why Vicious Elite Fluro stands above the rest.....

Level Winding; also referred to as precision winding or parallel winding.

Level winding is a state of the art spooling process that continually lays-down the line side-by-side or parallel to itself across a single level or row; concurrently stacking the line precisely on top of the previous row as it traverses across additional levels. Precision winding is a very technical and costly process that requires specialized machinery, skilled technicians and longer spooling times. Typically, one spooling station utilizing traditional winding techniques can generate approx. 125 finished spools per hour; while one level winding station with a highly-trained technician will complete approx. 60- 75 spools per hour. While parallel winding is relatively new to the USA fishing tackle industry, it is common place throughout Japan, China and Europe tackle industries and the primary spooling process in the thread and sewing industries, worldwide.

Key benefits of leveling winding vs. traditional spooled line:

1. Significantly reduced line memory- laser-guided system maintains even tension throughout the spooling process and keeps the line from twisting while eliminating line stretch as it traverses across each layer or row; thus keeping the line supple and memory free.

2. Casts further- the technique of winding the line side-by-side across each layer and stacking each layer parallel maintains the lines inherent smoothness and eliminates line criss-cross which cause minute knicks and abrasions on the line surface. As a result, the line passes more freely through the rod guides; providing longer and smooth casts.

3. More abrasion resistant- Same as above…zero line scuffs and knicks caused by the line cutting across itself in the spooling process makes the line more durable and resistant to line breaks right out of the box.

4. Maintains tensile and knot strength longer- A smoother line, free of knicks and microscopic abrasions, better maintains its inherent strength and durability.

5. Smooth and easier to handle- The precise and even line tension throughout the spooling process eliminates line twist and keeps the line smooth and supple and more in-round; thus the line is easier to handle when tying knots or adding terminal tackle.

6. The line performs better on spinning reels because it maintains less memory and handles easily…AND….there is no wrong way to spool the line onto a spinning reel.
