Not the news anyone likes to spread, regardless we should all know.

Don Barone (db) has been diagnosed with Cancer. I know team Ontario met db at Candlewood when they went down last year. Craig has always spoken highly about this man...........and this year at ICAST I had an oppertunity to meet him as well. db is a fine man, after speaking with him for a few minutes at ICAST you quickly realize why many people gravitate to him.

Let's keep this gent in our thoughts as he begins his journey............

db is a great source of insight and inspiration! Anyone that loves this sport that hasn't read db on BASSMASTER or Wired2Fish are selling themselves short. He's a man that lends insight to a sport that really makes no sense to the general public. Reports on the human element, life, love, which is far more important than the sport itself. I've never personally met db, but he is able to write in such a way to make you feel as if you've known him your entire life. He was looking for a source of writing inspiration last year during some of his coverage and I simple told him "db, you need to write about the Canadian element at these B.A.S.S. tournaments if you want know about our passion for the sport". Low and behold,

Just a dude from Buffalo, with Canadian roots that shares a passion for the sport we obviously all love. Our thoughts and prayers are with db during his road to recovery.
