The Best Smallmouth Bass Fishery That You've Never Heard of:

The best smallmouth bass fishery that you’ve never heard of --- possibly the best in North America --- is Ontario’s Lake Simcoe.
Last year, the winning team for the Bass Pro Shops Lake Simcoe Open brought in a five-fish bag that weighed 31.5 pounds. That’s an average of more than 6 pounds per fish!
This year, a husband-wife team won the late October event with 28.5. And a few days after the tournament, the husband caught a smallie that weighed 8-3.
“This is the only event in the country that continually produces several weights over 27 pounds and holds the record for the heaviest five bass ever weighed in during a Canadian tournament at 31.5 lbs,” says my friend, Wil Wegman.
