    Two Numa Stories

Recently I was at a Christmas dinner for a large fishing organization and the topic of Numa Optics came up. One gentleman said that he could never try the durability tests that he saw on You Tube for Numa Sunglasses with his own pair for fear of breaking them. I told him I would show him just how tough they were. The dinner was over and we went out to my car and I took a pair of Chucks and put them in their cleaning cloth / bag. I then took the glasses, threw them on the ground and stomped on them, as hard as I could, with both of my feet. They were a few gasps from the people standing around. I picked the bag up and took the glasses out, they were in perfect condition. I made a lot of believers in the durability of the Numa product.

This past week, I met with a photographer regarding something unrelated to Numa and she saw our glasses in my office. She liked the styles and was somewhat impressed with the durability, but she was most concerned about optical clarity. I took a pair of white Sharks with the high contrast Mandarose lens and let her try them on. She was so impressed with the optical clarity that she bought a pair on the spot.

Numa Optics are sunglasses that are as tough as you are with optical clarity that is unsurpassed.

I would have loved to have seen the faces of everyone around as you stomped on your glasses! They are the toughest glasses that I've ever tried!
    Cheers,

I sat on mine without incident , the toughness is a real bonus -what I like about them is the light weight and comfort!

Tough, very lightweight and they are amazing when I have used them on the firearms range at work, the high contrast lenses are the ticket on days that are cloudy and overcast, plus the obvious ballistic protection

Hi Bill - thanks for asking. We are working with various retailers right now to get set up. You will see a lot more product availability in the new year. This is a tough time of year for the retailers to put new products in.

As of right now - the closest dealer to you would be Dixie Tackle Shop in St. Thomas

    Thanks again

Jim, what do you recommend for those of us that require prescription glasses.

I cant tell you how many expensive prescription frames I've demo'd thought the years, dropping them, sitting on them, putting them in my front pocket then leaning over the boat to grab a fish and crushing them. I've had lenses pop out so many times it's not funny.

Maybe contacts is the answer but I hate the thought of trying to put contacts in at 3:00 in the morning.

Hi Gord - we can offer precription lenses in every frame we make.

Numa is partnered with a lab in Iowa that does all our prescription work. Our lenses are all wraparound (8-base curve), and local labs lack the machinery, technology and know-how, and will not process this type of lens.
It is a relatively new technology, and only 5 labs in the USA currently do this sort of work. Numa's partner lab is the leading specialist. They were the first in the country to do wraparound prescriptions and use the most advanced surfacing programs out of Israel. Plus, this lab applies the Numa custom stack of performance-enhancing layers to every Numa job: hard coat, hydrophobic and anti-reflective. Numa has done a lot of Rx work, and the results have been stellar.

Hi Rob - at this point the RX orders are going through me. The process is that you would go for your eye exam or get your prescription specifics from your optometrist and then I work with you from there.

It is a pretty easy process and works well.

    Where are you located Rob?
