A huge congrats to Simon and Mel for the win. It was an extremely tough few days on Simcoe and they caught fish when nobody else could ... and with NO PREFISH!!!
Even though the fishing was tough and the numbers were down it was still a blast to be a part of this tourney. Thanks to all that made it happen.
Looking forward to next year already and hoping the event will recieve a new boost of anglers and get the numbers back to 100 boats and keep it as a premier event.
Lots of talk about moving the event, so it will be interesting to see the weights from the Barrie Bassmasters Open this weekend.

you would probably get a more boats if it was a draw for position instead of the current system.

I think the system now works well ... reward those who fished last year and want to maintain their starting position with the order you finished, or sign up early and get a better position.
The draw doesnt reward people for getting money in early ... which is why they changed to the new system this year.

Hey jay can you tell me what the registration is like for next years tournament couldn't make it to the meeting and was just wondering?

I would lean more to the bad weather side of things than the draw. It's typically a full field but when the bite off and the weather is not cooperating people stay home. Start position being based off results encourages participants to bring fish to the stage good for the sponsors, although Simcoe is probably one of those lakes people with 70MPH+ boats doesn't make a difference.

the bad weather/fishing is the problem with leaving registration open until the day of the tournament ... if its not perfect then teams won't join. if im not mistaken BPS open had a waiting list most years so what needs to happen to generate that kind of interest again?
Fast boats only matter from the launch to the narrows on cooch lol ... at least the last couple years lol.
