Kingston Canadian Open and Simcoe Showdown Registration Clarification

All anglers that competed in 2013 where given 30 days to reserve their finish positions as they have done so in the past and at that time they were also given the first opportunity to pre register for the Simcoe Showdown.

On November 1st. the Kingston Canadian Open of Fishing opened its door for registration for the 2014 event. Anglers registering for Kingston Open again could also register for the Simcoe Showdown.

In an effort to continue to grow Kingston, we not only reduced the entry but also the field size to 80 boats so that we could create a demand and by implementing a rule that the Kingston Canadian Open field size would also be the maximize field size for the Simcoe Showdown.

To date we have surpassed the half way mark in registrations and if on December 2nd we have 65 Pro’s registered for the Kingston Open and 58 of them were also pre registered for the Simcoe Showdown, and we received 20 new applications for the Simcoe Showdown on December 2nd, we would draw all the applicants at the end of the day and place them in order and the first 7 applicants would be given a position. Positions are also based on Co-Angler availability, the remaining applicants would be placed on a waiting list.

So you don’t have to enter both events. Anglers that register for Kingston Open only will be guaranteed a position for Simcoe Showdown until Dec. 1st and then possibly subject to a waiting list should the angler wish to register for the Simcoe Showdown after December 1st.

The Registration Clarification applies to both Pro-Angler and Co-Angler. Co-Angler positions are based on Pro-Angler availability.
