    the wind

At what point do the t.d make a decision to close the lake, with the forecast being 50 k gusts!

That's gonna be one ugly lake tomorrow!

typically its based on your insurance for event, most stipulate small craft warnings and up a no go

    It's only 25-30 k ... Wouldn't be the simcoe open without 6 footers ... Bring em on!

Simcoe Open is gonna die off if the big lake is closed in am. You want big weights....not happening on Cooch. Hope it's open in am...

That's the only site that shows winds up to 20 to 25 knots. All other sites (windfinder, TWN, wind guru) show 22-30k sustained winds. I can honestly say I have never used the marine forecast over these other sites. It has no detail just a general statement of winds.
Looking back to 2009 with winds from the south and 8footers ... Tournament still went to simcoe , 2011 and 2012 also 4-6 footers. so what has changed?
