The Aurora Bassmasters are excited to announce that Shimano Canada has increased its level of commitment toward the new partnership between their club and Bass Pro Shops Canada, Inc. The partnership will focus around the newly established (Annual) Bass Pro Shops Lake Simcoe Open on October 27th, 2007.
“On behalf of Shimano Canada, we are very proud to be able to support the BPS Lake Simcoe Open with Shimano’s Live Release In-Water Weigh-In System.” said Greg Hammond, Marketing Manager, Shimano Canada. “Shimano has fast become known as the industry’s leader with respect to tournament weigh-in’s. In conjunction with Queen’s University, Shimano has developed an in-water weigh-in system which has become the industry standard. We look forward to playing an integral role in the health and management of the fish caught at the BPS Lake Simcoe Open and assisting the MNR’s efforts with respect to the clubs ongoing tagging program that promotes fisheries research.” Hammond continued.
“We’re extremely pleased to hear that Shimano Canada will be lending their cooperative support by way of providing the BPS Lake Simcoe Open with their renowned in-water weigh-in expertise and their catch and release boat, said George Wallace, Canadian Market Manager, Bass Pro Shops.
Herb Quan president of the Aurora Bassmasters added that, “On behalf of the entire Aurora Bassmaster chapter I’d like to thank Shimano Canada for their commitment. This again will lend to the overall health & prosperity of the Bass Pro Shops Lake Simcoe Open by ensuring the health of the fishery itself.”
