Topics / Speakers for Club Meetings

Recently I accepted to take on the Program portion for our Aurora Bassmaster meetings. With the goal of ensuring we have an informative topic delivered by a knowledgeable speaker. I’m sure all club members can recall some more memorable speakers.

I would be interested in knowing “what topic and/or speaker would you suggest for your club meeting?” Techniques, equipment maintenance, building your own------

I’m sure we will all get some great ideas from the list.

E.g. this week we are discussing dropshoting, presented by a club member.

I know one topic that is always good to have every year is "Winterizing your Engine" or even "Trouble Shooting your engine". Even the most seasoned boaters get a lot out of this topic. Engines change from year to year and the things needed to fix them do as well. It is always good to stay informed especially about something so vital.

    Just my thoughts....

More non-boaters will benefit from this topic most of all.

    Hi Des,

A few years back, I heard a speaker come in and speak about batteries. He was the local supplier of a particular brand (which escapes me), but he talked at length about the different batteries in the marketplace and did not slag any brands. He was excellent and informative. Everyone (experienced angler and new) commented on how they came away with something.

You may want to look into something like that.

Those Little People basketball players are alot of fun...change it up a bit! I found that most club speakers could only hold my attention for a half hour max...try keeping it fun!

MNR biologists are great we had Dr. Marc Ridgeway at our chapter last year for a great presentation, we also had Dr. Bruce Tufts from Queens University who did a great presentation on a number of things affecting Eastern Lake Ontario and the Bay of Quinte.
