Hey Fraser,
http://www.reelretreat.com/
I know of a few guys that stay here every year. I've never been but I know they are repeat customers. It is Hastings just below the dam, actually on Lake Seymour.
There is also decent motel on Highway 7 at the east end of Peterborough as well, would give you about a 25 minute drive both mornings. Again never stayed there but always seems busy when I drive by.

If you do a search on cottage rentals on Rice lake there are a ton of them, that might be your best bet.
Hi Fraser: Not sure if your into B&B's, but I just had to cancel the one I had for bassmania weekend. Its very close to town, and the owners are great. Let me know if your interested. I think a nice room is 85 dollars a nite
Cheers

If I remember correctly the lock opens at 8am.Originally posted by Fraser Muir
