Jack, has Globalstar increased their available user time in the past year.

You beat me to the question Jim. We use Global Star in our ambulances as a back up emergency communications system and to say we are disappointed with the current spotty availability would be an understatement.

Globalstar Service
Hey Guys,
Absolutely correct. They had serious problems with service for several years. During this time Radioworld completely stopped renting and selling Globalstar products. As they sent up the first set of new replacement satellites, service was reliable about 1/2 the time.
Globalstar drastically has cut their rates during this time in order to offer some affordability when reliability is suffering, however they do offer an SMS Service which will send a timetable for periods of reliabilty to your phone in 4 day periods.
The balance of the birds will be replaced in 2010 and the system should resume 100% reliability late 2010.
If you need more info, ask away or visit the Globalstar.ca website.
Jack
