    Renegade Bass Radio 10/03/12

Those amongst us that have spent a sufficient amount of time fishing and more importantly fishing competitively have long since realized that our mind has an amazing ability to influence our outcomes. Fishing with our partner in the same boat armed with the same lures and casting to the exact same structure is a scenario that many of us are familiar with. Unfortunately despite the seemingly identical circumstances, there have been a few too many outings with a less than proportionate catch ratio between the two anglers. And regardless of how hard we try to mimic the action, cadence and lure movement of our more successful fishing buddy we still seem to come out short. Worse yet for most us this has occurred too frequently to be categorized as just "luck".

If your quest to become a better angler includes an explanation to this phenomenon and other life altering questions please make sure to listen to our program this coming Saturday (10/03/12) We have the huge honor of speaking with Dr Jay T McNamara author of "The Psychology of Exceptional Fishing". Dr McNamara more commonly known in the fishing industry as "Dr. Fish" is a licenced and practising Psychologist whom also has the wonderful perspective of 30 years of competitive fishing experience. Dr. Jay will try to demystify the influence of our thoughts on the outcome of our days successes. He will share his experiences with the greatest anglers on the planet and more importantly he will identify how each of us could become better. Simple answers including "how best to manage the stress of a lost fish" will also be discussed. Needless to say we are extremely excited about this interview, we hope that you all enjoy it.

Dr McNamara can be contacted at jaydrfish@gmail.com where an autographed copy of his book can be purchased. The following links are to some of the incredibly pertinent articles which he has written.

Big Jim publisher of Canada's largest free fishing publication "Just Fishing" will join us this week with his great friend Ron James host of Fish TV. Ron will bring us up to speed about what's going on at Fish TV and what we can expect in the upcoming television season. He will also provide some of the details and secrets about the new 30,000 square foot Fish TV booth at the Toronto Sportsman's Show next week. The Fish TV booth will be the hub of angler education at this years show and generously each and every visitor to the booth will receive a gift from Fish TV and their partners.

Of course Renegade Bass Radio would not be complete without our tips and this week we have the great fortune of being joined by Tommy Skarlis and Jean Marc Desrochers. Tommy Skarlis, viewed as one of the best all time walleye anglers will identify a pretty cool Berkly Tackle Tip. Jean Marc Desrochers, one of the service professionals at Jim Tubman Chevrolet will provide a simple yet overlooked habit which we should all adopt as part of the Tubman's Tip For The Road.

Please keep the questions rolling and the new guest ideas flowing. We always mention you directly if production of our show was your idea. Thank You

Listen to us live Saturday mornings from 7-8 am on The Team 1200 (am), or via the web at www.team1200.com.

Huw, it's interesting that you mentioned this, in a few phone conversations which we had to develop the interview, Jay spoke specifically about Rick and his mindset. He knows Rick and mentioned that his ability to visualize and positively execute on those objectives was probably the best he has ever seen.

there's a bunch of informative bits and pieces online capturing KVD discussing how he goes out of his way to avoid and elliminate even the slightest potential for negative thought sources in all aspects of his fishing... This subject is becoming more and more critical in competition and some believe the only thing that seperates the winning person or team in some events...

    later ........... G!

" Clear your mind- use the FORCE Luke ...."
Much to learn you have young Skywalker....

OK ..look at the shiny spinnerbait..you are gettting verrry sleepy count backwards..99 basses..98 basses....:O

KVD discussing how he goes out of his way to avoid and elliminate even the slightest potential for negative thought sources--- Just send his wife out shopping or something or buy earplugs for 3 days before tournament ( insert Charlie Brown teacher voice here :P )

Or you could always just throw your partner off the boat if they become a negative thought source- problem solved ! LOL
