The day before you let guys know! LOL
Kurt quite hard for any tournament director to make a change like this in advance. It all has to do with mother nature.............Originally posted by KurtHehlJr

Why the sour post? With the expected 25K + winds this was the right decision.
Are you fishing the event?
small craft warning as of last night, the change was made reflecting that. I dont think there is a tournament circuit out there thats gonna go in a small craft warning. Angler safety first
Great decision made by the organizing bodies of the CBAF Dream Event. It would have definitely been a rough ride back to Penetang this afternoon.
The launch at Muskey's Lodge is tricky with that size of field but that was the hand those in charge were dealt.
Great job to do the best you could with what you had!
Great event!
Congrats to Oliver and Pete on their big win! Over 20 at this time of the year is impressive, especially on tough bite and cold front like we had experienced.
With the forecasted small craft warning...the options were to cancel the event or move it. The Exec decided to move it and worked very hard to let everyone know as soon as the decision was made. Not a perfect situation, but the cards we were dealt. Nevertheless, some anglers get to move on to a Dream Lake and compete for a fully rigged Ranger.Originally posted by KurtHehlJr

Sorry it was such an inconvienence for you Kurt.

what happened today was that the CBAF worked within MNR policy on GB and ran a great tournament. I have a stange feeling that the Fed Cup might move there soon.
Way to go Rick and others on taking a great concept on a great piece of water and making a team event work with 5 fish!!!!
If you are going to have events on Georgian Bay you have to be prepared to move to accommodate strong winds much the same way they would do on Erie by launching from the river. It was a good call.Originally posted by Peter Bartonek

Have never experienced that in the past with any other tournament on Georgian Bay, just used to the weather out here I guess... Congrats to Tom Hardy on his finish, nice bag I heard
Good call! it was definetly the right decision ! Muskies was a bit congested but a small price to pay for safety -We really enjoyed the event and congratulate Oliver and Peter and the other top teams for getting it done on a tough day!
Great call by Exec.
If the tournament remained in Penatang my feeling is today we would have 8-10 fish finders gone. The same amount of busted trolling motors and lots of broken windshields.
Certainly worth a little congested parking.
Thanks to everyone that organised the event, wind sure did pick up right around 2:45! Village Marine (Honney Harbour) is also a decent launch location come high winds. Congrats Pete and Oliver!
