Just trying to demonstrate the many facits to this from someones whos been there.
About the co-op thing... You might have sponsor whom can only come to the table with product for sponorship, and say its substantial. The sponsor is bying in for exposure & advertising in return. So in order to facilitate this and lock down the deal you'll have to agree to do this by using club monies and/or assets. This is usually thought media advertising in one way or another whether it be on shirts & hats, posters, internet, radio, print media, etc.
You'll find that these types of partnerships go alot further than just give and take ones. Keep in mind that major sponsors might want a say in your day to day activties as now you represent then.
