The 2011 KINGSTON CANADIAN OPEN OF FISHING is proud to announce Shimano Canada will be participating in this year’s Kingston Canadian Open of Fishing.

Shimano Canada International manufacturer and distributor of cycling and fishing equipment and accessories have taken a leading role financially in supporting the event with over $12,000 in cash and prizes, in addition seeding the Pay to Play with $1,000 to the Pros with a potential payout of $5,000 and seeding the coangler Pay to Play with $750 with a potential payout of $2,750 bringing the total purse payout over $200,000.00 in cash and prizes making the 2011 Kingston Canadian Open of Fishing the highest payback structure in Canadian bass fishing history.



Shimano Canada through ongoing research and studies at Queens University and in partnering with the CSFL will continue to support the Kingston Canadian Open of Fishing with the Shimano Live Release System and the In Water Weigh In.

In the spirit of the Kingston Canadian Open of Fishing, Shimano Canada will be donating $3,000 to Soldiers On, an organization that supports injured or ill Canadian Forces personnel. The Soldier On program, and the complementary Soldier On Fund, encourages ill and injured CF personnel to attain and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. It supports these personnel in increasing their independence, in developing new skills and in achieving goals.

The Kingston Canadian Open of Fishing tournament will be run by the Competitive Sport Fishing League (CSFL). Registration fees are $1000 for Pro anglers and $750 for Amateurs/non-boaters.
