As you know the City of Orillia has been home to the original Fall Challenge for well over a quarter of a century, and was founded by the Orillia Fish and Game Club. Over the years this event has been hosted by GM Pro Bass in the late 80’s to the early 90’s, by Bass’N’Tario in the mid to late 90’s and by the CSFL since the late 90’s to date.

In an effort to increase the field size, the event has been reduced to a one day with a $220.00 entry fee making it more affordable, with the hopes of re-establishing field size and nurturing it back into a two day event, which can only be made possible with your support.

Andrew Pallotta of the CSFL commented “The Fall Challenge was the first event I ever fished. I remember mentally draining myself just waiting in line to launch my boat, nearly taking me over the top as we lined up for the morning check in and then sitting in silence amongst 150 boats not knowing what to expect next, only to be completely blown away when I noticed guys putting on helmets. I recall looking over at my cousin, who was not in any better shape than me, thinking what have we gotten ourselves into. Hearing the tournament director calling out numbers staring to blast off boats, not knowing what to expect with at least 10 boats all around us all heading towards Couchiching Point, I was totally freaked out. As we came into the turn with boats all around us, when we approached the 10K I veered to that right like it was intended, it was such a huge rush and one that I will never forget. We decided to start our day in a spot we never fished, we managed to catch around 14 lbs. putting us in the top ten after the first day but more importantly ahead of the Izumi’s. Let’s say the fish were not the only ones to get hooked that day. I truly hold this event dear to my heart and in making this event a one day was merely one last attempt in trying to keep it alive and I truly believe that together we can rebuild this event and make it what it was intended to be.”

The new one day format will continue to be restricted to Lake Couchiching only, with no locking on the north end of the lake and to the Atherley Bridge. Blast off is scheduled for 8:00 am (conditions permitting) with weigh in at 4:00 pm.

Entry Fee is $220 plus HST (optional lunker pool).
